Once You Start Laughing, You Start Healing.
They’re calling each other pretty
Everyone is charming in this city…
It’s nice to see, it’s flattering
Their gorgeous faces? Worth capturing.
I see people beautifully dressed
Yet they all seem so depressed
In brand new, fancy clothing
Through life they’re all floating.
Nobody smiling, nobody laughing
Smoking cigarettes and coughing
No glimpse of joy on their faces
A question in my mind that raises:
What’s wrong with being happy?
It has become so rare…How sadly…
People are too stiff to enjoy anything
Fear always hiding somewhere within.
I hope one day we wake up brave
No longer controlled by insecurity, by shame..
I hope one day we let ourselves be
Our joy resounding oversea.
